Technology & Future
profairs is a completely cloud-based solution (software as a service). The only requirement for use is internet access and an up-to-date browser. The application does not need to be managed or updated by the organizer, nor does it require any investment in hardware. There are no restrictions on the number of users who can work with the software at the same time.
The software has an open structure. Through an API and webhooks provided by profairs, any other software can be connected and processes can be integrated. There are already interfaces existing to various software systems (especially billing and ERP systems).
Security and high availability
Your data is your capital. That's why we attach particular importance to reliable and high-quality hosting. We host our data in compliance with the GDPR at Plusline in Frankfurt and at Hetzner in Falkenstein and Nuremberg. The hardware and most of the services are redundant. So if a service on a server should ever cause problems, a second, redundant server takes over the tasks. In addition, the systems are monitored 24/7, enabling us to achieve a very high level of availability. Daily backups are a matter of course.

A look into the future of the software
We have been in the planning and development phase since mid-2024 to completely rebuild key elements of the software. To this end, the technical foundation of the software, the API, is being completely redeveloped. The control, accounts and widgets (including the exhibitor and lecture directory and exhibitor registration) will then be based on this API. Advantages: Automated tests, more stability, faster loading times, robust interfaces.
The exhibitor and prospect account will also be completely redesigned at the same time. We have gained valuable insights from the experience of previous years and a lot of feedback from exhibitors and organizers to make the application even more user-friendly and flexible. We will also ensure that all key features are retained in the future. We will start rolling out the new release at the end of 2025.
In 2026, the control will also receive a new user interface.
